Komarnicki Pleased Housing and Homelessness
Policy Passes at Convention

Ottawa-Ed Komarnicki, MP, the Labour and Housing Critic for the Official Opposition, today announced that he was pleased to see the delegates at the Conservative Convention endorse the Housing and Homelessness Policy Resolution, P-52.
“As the Official Opposition Labour and Housing Critic, it was a resolution that my office and I worked hard at the policy committee, with the Caucus and at the convention, when I spoke to the resolution at both the workshop and the plenary session,” Komarnicki said.
“It is a social policy issue that shows the Conservative Party is prepared to work with provinces, municipalities and other agencies to address the pressing needs related to housing and homelessness. This policy is especially important, given continuing increase in urban population growth and the difficulties encountered by low-income Canadians in accessing suitable accommodation,” said Komarnicki.
The policy is a comprehensive statement that gives specific attention to factors that contribute to homelessness and that provides the means to elevate people from homelessness to affordable rental accommodation or home ownership.
