Conservatives Discuss Energy Future in Estevan:
Local MP Ed Komarnacki and Fellow Sask. MP
Brad Trost Tour Boundary Dam Site

Estevan – Conservative MPs were discussing Canada’s future as an emerging energy superpower on a visit to Estevan yesterday. MPs Ed Komarnacki and Brad Trost toured the Boundary Dam site and then hosted a roundtable to discuss other innovative, clean energy projects in the area.

“We have tremendous potential right here in Estevan to lead the way as Canada moves to cleaner, more sustainable energy,” said Ed Komarnacki, the Member of Parliament for Souris-Moose Mountain. “This meeting was a chance for us to hear more about the opportunities in this sector and to take that information back to the Minister of Natural Resources.”

While Canada’s natural resource industries are facing challenging times as the world goes through an economic slowdown, there is no question that there are tremendous opportunities in the future. In recent days, Conservative MPs have fanned out across the country to hear from communities facing difficulties while also discussing the emerging opportunities in communities likes Estevan.

“Ed Komarnacki has been a tremendous advocate for the innovative energy projects in his riding like the Boundary Dam project,” said Brad Trost, the Member of Parliament for Saskatoon-Humboldt. “It was great to come to Estevan to see the types of resource projects that will ensure Canada reaches its great potential as a clean, energy superpower.”
