Today Ed Komarnicki as Member of Parliament for Souris- Moose Mountain and on behalf of the Honourable Monte Solberg, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, extended his congratulations on the occasion of the opening of the Weyburn Service Canada Centre for Youth (SCCY).

“The beneficial services that this office will provide to assist our young people and businesses with their summer employment needs are certainly welcome,” said Komarnicki. “It is absolutely essential that we remain committed to improving opportunities for our youth as part of an ongoing effort to create a strong and productive workforce.”

SCCY- Weyburn will assist young people with resumes, cover letters and interview skills, as well as provide information on Government of Canada programs and services, wage rates, workplace health and safety and employment standards. “By offering our young people the tools and support they need, we are helping them obtain the skill and knowledge advantage that they need to become successful in the workplace,” said Komarnicki. “I wish to encourage our youth and as well as our local employers to take full advantage of the services this centre provides.”

SCCY – Weyburn is located at 110 Souris Avenue. Its hours of operation are 8:30am to 4:15pm Monday to Friday. Employers interested in using SCCY services and students looking for summer jobs can contact the SCCY at (306) 848-4457.
