Born and raised in rural Saskatchewan, Ed pursued a career in the general practice of Law in the community of Estevan and the surrounding area for over thirty years.

He has a comprehensive background in various areas of law including trial and appellate work with strong skills in advocacy, communication, inter-personal relations.

He served as a Bencher with the Law Society of Saskatchewan in various capacities including Chair of Professional Standards, Legislation and Policy, Equity Diversity, and Vice Chair of Discipline. Ed is known to be principled, honest, sincere, hardworking, tenacious and passionate about what he believes in.

Ed and his wife Sally are committed to preserving traditional values that have made this country great and to helping ensure that families remain as the foundation of our nation.

Ed is currently serving as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development and to the Minister of Labour. In the 39th Parliament he served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration and sat on the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration. He served as Labour and Housing Critic in the 38th Parliament and sat as a member of the Standing Committee on Humans Resources, Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities and Skills Development.

Recognized for his hard work ethic, focus and commitment to his job, Ed is also known for the love and dedication he has for his family. Ed and his wife Sally have raised eight children and enjoy numerous grandchildren.
